Takashi Kikuchi

Viola

Virtuoso Takashi Kikuchi began studying the viola at Tokyo University of the Arts in 1988, where he was awarded the Doctor of Musical Arts in 2003. He came to the Royal Academy of Music in 1999 for his post graduate studies and received the teaching diploma LRAM and the Lawson Award. His career spans several countries with performances in Great Britain including recitals for the Schubert Music Society, the Treasury Music Society in Whitehall, the Victoria and Albert Museum, Handel House Museum, the Queen Elizabeth Hall at the Southbank Centre and the closing ceremony of the Paralympic Games in 2012. Distinguished composer, Frank Stiles, completed his third Sonata for Viola and Piano for Takashi. He has performed with the Inner Vision Orchestra since its inception in 2012.
