Antardrishti - Inner Vision project for Unlimited
On September 25 a group of Inner Vision musicians and Addictive TV will join 5 blind musicians and four blind dancers in Goa! BMF has been awarded an R&D for an International Commission by Unlimited for their new project Antardristi - InnerVision, a production inspired by the Bhagavad Gita. The performance will explore the concept of inner vision, and the complex interplay between light and darkness, examining what is sight and sightlessness. Commissioned and supported by Unlimited, celebrating the work of disabled artists, with funding from Arts Council England and British Council.
Led by multi-instrumentalist Baluji Shrivastav OBE, the international music dance and visual performance will feature Inner Vision Orchestra, Indian musicians Chiman Lal, Raju Maurya, Perumal Varudaraj, singer Sayani Palit and dancers from Shri Ramana Maharishi Academy and digital artists Addictive TV, who create music you can see. Regional folk and classical vocal and instrumental music will follow a strong narrative theme, with sensitive and dramatic lighting design. Addictive TV will record, sample and add footage of several of the artists into the composition, creating a musical canvas that allows live musicians to interact with sampled recordings of themselves and the other musicians on-screen. On October 8 there will be a presentation of work in progress before an invited audience.
What is worse than having no sight? Having no vision. We have plenty of that!!!!
